Frequently Asked Questions

Who can be a part of Old Pueblo Rugby Football Club?

OPRFC accepts players of all sizes and experience levels. In fact, most players who join our club have never played before. We have a Men’s Team, Women’s Team and High School Team. We also have non-player memberships available for those that simply want to be a part of the social and charitable aspects of our club.

What should I bring?

A mouth guard and cleats without a toe cleat. That is it.

When is your season?

It starts now. In other words, OPRFC always has something going on. It is never too soon to join the fitness, games and social events we have planned on a regular basis.

Is OPRFC involved in the community?

We are an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit and have launched “Engage,” a program that provides rugby clinics and athletic gear to underprivileged children. For more information about our charity and how you can help, check it out.

Ok, I’m on board. How do I become an official member of OPRFC?

  1. Register here. This will allow you to receive updated information, receive membership perks and most importantly, play rugby.  Even for non-players and alumni, registration will keep you in the loop, provide membership perks and provide us with your contact information so we can send you business.
  2. Players must also register with USA Rugby.

Where can I get more information?

We are on Facebook: Old Pueblo Rugby Football Club (public), Old Pueblo Rugby Football Club (closed group), OP Lions Players Only (Men), Tucson Lightning Women’s Rugby Club (Women) and Old Pueblo High School and Youth Rugby (High School). You can also contact our President, Matt Schmidt, at mschmidt@kss-law.com.
